Tajikistan, a Central Asian state endowed with vast freshwater resources, has positioned itself as a regional leader in green diplomacy. This article analyzes Tajikistan’s strategies to leverage hydropower development, climate advocacy, and transboundary cooperation to address water scarcity and energy insecurity. Drawing on policy documents and regional agreements, the study highlights how Tajikistan balances domestic priorities with global sustainability goals. Challenges such as financing gaps and geopolitical tensions are critically examined. Findings suggest that Tajikistan’s green diplomacy offers a model for resource-dependent nations, though long-term success hinges on institutional reforms and inclusive governance.
